OTG-R FIBER OPTIC TEMPERATURE SENSORS FOR EED TESTING

Opsens’ OTG-R temperature sensor is perfectly adapted for EED testing from standard MK1 to more sophisticated and custom Electro-Explosive Devices. Offering high response time of 5 ms, the OTG-R also demonstrates a high sensitivity with detactable current of 2 mA (35dB below NFT).

Opsens’ OTG-R is offered with different cable sheath and size options. The standard OTG-R sensor is 150 micron OD however it is also available in 100 micron OD with different cable sheating. For users working with compact EIDS and small bridgewire.

The sensor cable sheaths are available in 900 μm OD PVC tight buffer; 2mm OD PVC or PTFE sliding sheath with bare section and cable sheath material according to the users’ environment.

The 0.9mm OD PVC cable is highly suitable for users who need high flexibility and short cable. The 2mm and 3mm OD cable are available for users that conduct outdoor testing for better handling, reduced bending and excellent robustness. External extension cable specifically designed for military uses of optical fiber is also available (MIL spec 4 mm OD Polyurethane Kevlar reinforced).

Opsens’ experience with RADHAZ / HERO applications acquired over the years has provided the team with the needed expertise to efficiently link EED devices to our temperature probe and to offer custom sensor assembly service on most EED devices.

RADSENS SIGNAL CONDITIONER

Opsens’ RadSens signal conditioner consists of two main components - a 19-inch rackmount chassis with interactive touch panel screen and the PSR optical modules.

The RadSens system is scalable, made of up to 8 optoelectronics PSR modules that, once configured by way of an internal fast digital communication link between the modules and the RadSens chassis single board computer, delivers analog outputs proportional to the measurements, as well as digital output back to the single board computer on the same internal communication link.

The RadSens system is adjustable from 100 Hz to 1000 Hz and it offers an adaptive filtering process for optimum noise reduction without introducing any additional delay in a high frequency signal.

The Radsens features a nice graphical user interface with a color TFT touch-screen display for local system control and a SoftProSens software for remote system control.

PSR-1-100ST Optoelectronics modules features:

  • Fast digital communication link to transfer real time data to Card Cage on-board computer
  • Module to module consistency (calibration on one module valid on all modules) due to system perfect linearity
  • 1000 Hz sampling rate scalable from 100 Hz to 1K Hz
  • Absolute temperature measurement
  • No Pass Key or Calibration factor required for each sensor or system
  • Peak and hold function
  • High accuracy and improved stability due to digital signal processing

OPTIONAL INTERNAL CURRENT SOURCE

An optional current source can be ordered with the RadSens instrument. The source comes in two capacity format: 150mA and 800mA. This current source is useful for calibrating bridge-wire electro-explosive devices. With the I-Source, you get the autonomy for self calibration of your EED assembly.

With the automatic calibration function, Radsens users can calibrate the sensor with the current source automatically and the system will generate the gauge factor after each calibration. This tool facilitates greatly the calibration steps. There is no more manual taking down data and plotting the calibration graph. The software does all the steps and users can choose as many points as they wish.
