Mr. Lang has been the Vice President of Engineering for Opsens Solutions Inc. since its inception in December 2007. His principle tasks within the company consist of administering the successful deployment of highly sensitive, robust, instrumentation systems for the purpose of reservoir surveillance. This includes design & manufacture, assembly, testing, quality assurance protocols, and field installation techniques & procedures. He also communicates regularly with other senior management on issues relating to future product development, marketing, and corporate strategic planning.

Mr. Lang has been integrally involved in a myriad of reservoir surveillance projects, ranging from high temperature SAGD (steam assisted gravity drainage) to CO₂ sequestration (carbon capture and storage) monitoring. He has established a strong pattern of successful deployments and reliable mechanical designs. His experience base is broad and in addition to his formal background in mechanical design, includes a solid understanding of electronics, data acquisition, and software design & development. He also has an acute understanding of the design of full-scale testing systems, including experimental design, test methods, data interpretation, and reporting.

Prior to his employment with Opsens Solutions Inc., Mr. Lang held senior engineering positions with several other companies as well as his own consulting corporation. He holds a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering (1994) from the University of Alberta and is an active member in good standing with the Association of Professional Engineers, Geologists, and Geophysicists of Alberta (APEGGA).
