The WellSens surface unit is a robust and reliable multi-channel signal conditioner. It is compatible with Opsens’ harsh environment interferometric fiber optic pressure and temperature sensors, the OPP-W. It can operate in extreme surface operating temperature - 40 to + 60 °C. Its small foot print, low power consumption, ease of use and its competitive cost make it the solution of choice for oil fields or industrial process applications.

At the core of the WellSens is the Opsens’ White Light Polarization Interferometry (WLPI) proprietary technology (patent pending). This technology provides a mean for making accurate and absolute measurements of the path length difference of any type of interferometric fiber optic sensors. This difference varies according to the parameter of interest (pressure, temperature).

The WellSens is offered in both tabletop and wall mount versions. The standard version comes with an LCD screen display, an RS-232 and an RS-485 serial interface outputs. It provides sequential readings over up to 16 measurement channels with a ± 0.01% full scale precision.

A PLC controller is also available as an optional and offers extended control capabilities through a wide range of input/outputs and internal processing, data acquisition capability and different communication hardware and software protocols.
